Days 15, 16 and 17 Rest and forced delay

I remain in stunning Paihia, setting off for the next section tomorrow.

I had intended on two rest days with today doing the kayaking section to Waikare. Unfortunately, as I'm not in sync with anyone else there were no other kayakers, and understandably the hire company don't let you do it on your own.

There is a group going tomorrow so I have to suffer the hardship of another day in this stunning coastal town, and the chance to sit in the sun, eat and watch the rugby semi final this evening. I am also sure my feet will appreciate it.

The next section to my bounce box (the box I post ahead which has my laptop and a few other luxuries), is about 9 days walk. Destination - Mangawhai Heads. There are little settlements I will pass through so its not complete wilderness for this period.

I am trying to work out how to do posts from my phone, so there is not so much of a gap and so many to write all at once. My technique at the moment is to hand write my thoughts each evening and then type them up with photos when I get to the computer.

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend.
