Day 42 The generation that know environmentalism

Wednesday 20 November

What I love about staying with Mum and Dad (other than their company of course), is the reminders of my childhood. The butter dish is the same as when I was a child, as is the salt container. Their generation puts every other to shame when it comes to recycling, reusing and not wasting. The ironing board here is 57 years old and was a wedding present. The cover is an old towel. If we all lived by this ethos of 'if it isn't broken we don't need a new one', there wouldn't be half the environmental issues we have today.
