Day 169 Logistics and Rest

27 March 2021

Queenstown

I am grateful to be resting my legs and feet today. They are holding up amazingly well and I have not yet revisited the constant pain I remember from last year. Long may that continue.

Today is a day of logistics, planning the next section, including booking transport to get around Lake Wakatipu to the start of the Greenstone track. The link is not considered part of the TA and I guess swimming the lake is out of the question. Even kayaking it would be a massive ask.

An overcast day over Lake Wakatipu, Queenstown

I have nearly completed the blogs for the last section, and will now venture out of my room to see the sights of Queenstown and inject some money into the struggling Queenstown economy.

Tonight I might just try a famous Ferg Burger. Normally there are incredible queues for them, however with the lack of tourists it should be easier. I can't image queuing for a burger no matter how good they are. I catch the shuttle tomorrow morning at 8am for the two hour journey around the lake. Next rest days will be Te Anau in about four to five days.
