Day 151 So laid back I'm horizontal

Tuesday 10 March

Lake Takapō

Today was supposed to be the day I walked the Tasman Glacier however the forecast is for rain so I have postponed it until Thursday. A blessing in disguise really. I found myself slightly geographically embarrassed as I had in my head that Mt Cook Village was very close to Takapō. So when the website said they pick you up from any accommodation in the village, I thought they meant Takapō. I was so very wrong. It is a couple of hours away by shuttle (going via Twizel). So I have had to do some research, rearranging and planning to get me to my Tasman Glacier adventure. I will go tomorrow morning and do a short walk to a view point of Aoraki / Mt Cook.

Lake Takapō

I had been thinking of doing a few kilometres of the next road section today and then hitch hiking back here, but in all honesty I just couldn't be bothered and thought my feet really needed a bit more rest and pampering. As I always listen to my feet, we headed off to the hot pools for a soak and a massage instead. Bliss.

It was then a marathon effort on the blog to get it up to date, while my feet continued to rest. Just what they needed.
