Day 140 & 141 Heavy Rain Warning delays
Thursday 27 & Friday 28 February
Bealey
Weather: heavy rain and gales
Denise was picked up by the shuttle mid morning yesterday and as there was a heavy rain watch for today, which changed to warning, I have stayed put. More river crossings in the next section that will be flooding right now. This is what the forecast said: 200 to 350mm rain about the main divide, peak rates 15 to 25mm/hour.

Sunset yesterday
I am in my room listening to the torrential rain and wind blowing so hard the building is shaking. I so hope it stops soon. I'm already stir crazy.
I have spent my time learning to transfer my photos to my phone which let's me blog without the computer. Unfortunately the quality reduces significantly, so I will swap out for the better resolution photos next time I have the computer.
I have done some extra planning for side trips at Lake Tekapo and it looks promising for a two day guided trek of alpine rock and glacier climbing and snow walking at Aoraki/Mt Cook. Very excited.
Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
Here's hoping the weather improves tomorrow.
